Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #82

This week's Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge is actually a month long challenge!  First I am going to show you my creation for this week, and then move on to all the details.   I used an image from the Priscilla Styles store, "Christmas Ornaments".
The Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge has combined three sketches in this post that will last the WHOLE MONTH. We have supplied both the FANCY and CAS sketches for you. In the true celebration of crafting, you are more than welcome to enter as many cards as you like this month. You can even do a few of each if you want to. Just have fun, crank up those holiday tunes and get some Holiday cards created. In addition to entering your cards throughout the whole month, we would like to invite you to share with us some of your holiday cheer, memories and things that have made your holidays extra special throughout the years. Along with those wonderful cards you will be posting, we would love to see some holiday pictures (old or new). Share your yummiest holiday recipe, pictures of your pet with a bow in it's head, share your favorite holiday song, video or even a blast from the past with your dad dressed up as Santa. You name it, we want to see it!! You can leave your links in your comments or just add whatever you would like to share with us on your Midnight Madness blog posts.  In true holiday spirit, the prizes this month will be the gifts of giving from your heart and from all of us (DT and Players) and simply through the joy of sharing with each other.

I'd like to share one of my fondest childhood memories of Christmas.  When I was just a tot, my parents and I would always travel to my grandmother's house on Christmas eve.  I remember standing up on the pickup truck seat between both of my parents and we would sing Christmas songs at the top of our voices.  I'm sure I was too little to actually sing the correct words, but what an impression it made on me!
Here are the December sketches... "YOUR PICK" Make it fancy, clean and simple, or somewhere in-between.  (I chose MMSC82 for my card.)

Feel free to enter multiple cards this month too!

Freshly Brewed Challenge - Winter, Christmas theme
Creative Belli Challenge - Red, Ribbon, Ric Rac(anything "R")

Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow and Blog Hop!

Saturdays are always sensational at Sugar Creek Hollow!  That's when the design team creates new cards to share with you for inspiration.  This week the design team was challenged to create an image using a technique called  "Faux Barn Board" which was  featured on Splitcoast Stampers.  Well, I did not have any white acrylic paint so I used my Cuttlebug folder that embosses a wood grain look.
Christmas Cardinal

I thought the Christmas Cardinal image would be ideal against my barn board.  I used Webster's Pages for my die cut and K and Company DP.  My CS is from Bazzill.

My cardinal is colored with Copic markers and I sponged distressed ink around the image.  Dew drops, satin ribbon and lace complete my embellishments.

Please join us for this week's challenge!  We would love for you to play along,  just make your creation using the faux barn board technique and link it up with Mr. Linky HERE

Sensational Saturdays at Sugar Creek Hollow

Saturdays are always sensational at Sugar Creek Hollow!  That's when the design team creates new cards to share with you for inspiration.  This week the design team has fallen in love with a new digital stamp Tracy is introducing today, baby Jesus:
Here are some closeups:
and the scroll was designed by our own Donna Moore!
I think the artist did a very divine and inspired drawing.  The rest of the design team must be in agreement because I think everyone created a card with this fabulous image!

I changed the ink color of the digital image and then lightly used Copic marker E000 to enhance the skin tone.  My background paper was purchased from a local art store - this is all soft and wrinkly and has gold overlay, used for ink drawings.

Please join us for our sketch challenge!  We would love for you to play along,  just make your creation using the color combo and link it up with Mr. Linky HERE

Critter Sketch Challenge #40

Today I have a card created for this week's Critter Sketch Challenge.  The theme for this week's challenge is "Texture it!".   You can use fun flock, liquid applique, Stickles, liquid pearls, and embossing powders!  I chose a digital image from the Priscilla Styles Store,  "Christmas Bear".
My design paper is from "The Paper Studio" and "The Paper Place".   I embossed my ornament with a Sizzix embossing folder and made a "cap" by pleating gold DP.  My holly leaves were made with a MS punch and the berries are red Stickles.  I colored my "Christmas Bear" with Copic markers and added red Stickles to the candy cane.

Thanks for visiting and please check out the other "Critters" blogs to see their creations!

Sensational Saturdays at Sugar Creek Hollow

Saturdays are always sensational at Sugar Creek Hollow!  That's when the design team creates new cards to share with you for inspiration.  This week the design team's challenge was a color combo using:
Christmas Angel
I love this Christmas Angel, she is such a gorgeous digi!  I initially colored my image in Photoshop before I printed it out so I would have the pink already colored. I then went over the wings with Shimmerz "Candlelight" and a gold Atyou Spica marker.  I painted around my angel with Twinkling H20s.  The layer underneath my image was embossed with snowflakes and then sponged with SU Craft Whisper White.  The Spellbinder's frame is laced with an organza ribbon.  There is design paper underneath if you look close enough, Basic Grey's Figgy Pudding!  I added Prima roses and an EK Success butterfly border over my lace trim.  This was a real challenge for me using the color combo, I guess I can't think beyond traditional Christmas colors this time of the year.

Please join us for our sketch challenge!  We would love for you to play along,  just make your creation using the color combo and link it up with Mr. Linky HERE

Just A Simple Card

Today I'd like to share just a simple card I made.  And yes, not every card I make is all decked out!  One of my childhood Sunday School teachers asked me to make some cards for her.  I kept them simple, nothing fancy.
This is a great design from Prairie Fairy and can be used for so many different occasions!  This is just perfect for our card ministry.  And guess what!  I used my Prismacolor pencils instead of my Copics!  I decided I needed to change mediums and it was so much fun to use these again.

Please stay tuned, I am going to post another version of this card "all decked out"!  I thought it might be fun to see a "before and after"!

Thanks for visiting!
